45 Degree Leg Press Machine MFP56 has a large molded foam seat for extra comfort, a larger foot plate to accommodate every user. Targets Muscle:

The 45degree leg press machine targets the quadriceps, a muscle group comprised of four heads (Rectus Femoris, Vastus Lateralis, Vastus Intermedius, & Vastus Medialis (Internus). This exercise engages the gluteus maximus, adductor magnus (inner thigh), and soleus (calf) to assist in completing the movement.

Benefits:

The leg press machine allows you to get the benefits of a barbell squat for developing the quadriceps. Secondarily, it develops the gluteus maximus, hamstrings, and calves. By varying your foot position you can emphasize different muscles. It builds strength in these muscles and you can use it to overcome imbalances, such as when runners have more developed hamstrings than quadriceps.

Safety and Precautions

The best way to stay safe on the Leg Press machine is to get to know the equipment before using it. Because the machine has different variations (and manufacturers) yours may have more than one adjustment that needs to be made in order for you to maintain good form.

Avoid the resistance training if you have weak pelvic floor muscles as it places a lot of stress on the pelvic floor. Instead, do safer Leg strengthening exercises as recommended by your doctor or physical therapist. You should not use this machine if you have a quadriceps gluteus maximus, hamstrings muscles or knee injury. If one or both of your legs hurt, do not push through the pain. Pushing through will only cause injury. This exercise can also place stress on your quadriceps and hamstrings, so it should be avoided if you have a knee injury or hamstrings pain.

Before adding weight, adjust the seat and do a few repetitions with no weight at all. Simple move through the mechanics of exercise make sure you feel comfortable.
